Your crew opens today's job.
Their jobs for the day arrive in order from your schedule or job software, each with the address, your notes and what to bring. They tap Clock in on the job, and you see it started. If you turn it on, location is read only at clock-in and clock-out.

They follow your steps, even without signal.
Your checklist for that job type opens, with ticks, readings and parts used. A step that needs a photo holds back Mark job done until it has one, and photos are filed on their step with location taken out. Without signal, everything is saved on the phone and counted as not sent yet.

The customer signs off on the screen.
The customer sees a summary of the work, with your photos if you want them shown, agrees to sign electronically and signs with a finger. The record keeps the time on the phone and the exact summary signed, and a signed copy is emailed to them once the phone has signal.

Once there's signal, everything sends in order, on an iPhone as soon as the app is opened. You see the job done with its photos, sign-off and hours. The photos and signed copy go onto the job in your job software where it lets outside apps add them, or into your Google Drive.

Questions.
Doesn't my job software already have a crew app?
Often, yes. Many job software and photo apps include checklists, job photos, customer signatures and time on the job, and some keep working without signal. If yours fits how your crews work, your solution design says to turn it on, and we build nothing or only set up your forms in it. We build when crews must finish jobs without signal on software that can't, when your steps need rules your app doesn't hold, or when jobs, photos and time go into different tools today.
Does it work without signal?
Yes, once the app is on the phone's Home Screen and has been opened with signal before the crew heads out. It keeps the next two days of jobs and your forms on the phone, saves everything the crew records there first and sends it when there's signal, with a count of what hasn't gone yet on screen. An iPhone sends each time the app is opened with signal, and Android phones using Chrome can also send in the background. Before launch we run a full job in airplane mode on a real iPhone and a real Android phone.
Do my crews need to download anything?
Nothing from an app store. Each person opens a link and adds the app to their Home Screen on iPhone or Android, and we do this with your team during the walkthrough. The app reads nothing else on the phone and uses the camera only when someone takes a photo. Each person stays signed in on their own phone, and you can sign anyone out when they leave.
Do you track where my crew is?
Not through the day. We take location out of job photos, and the app doesn't record where anyone is between clock-in and clock-out. If you turn it on, location is read only at clock-in and clock-out, with each person's permission on their phone. Before it starts, we give you plain wording to tell your team what the app records.
How does the customer's sign-off work?
The customer sees a summary of the work, with your photos if you want them shown, agrees to sign electronically and signs with a finger on the crew member's phone. We keep their typed name, the time on the phone, when it reached us and the exact summary they signed. A signed PDF is emailed to them and kept on the job once the phone has signal. It's for signing off finished work, so lien waivers and lien contracts stay out of it.
What do I need to have?
Your jobs, from your job software with an admin's access, from Scheduling and dispatch or as a list. Some job software only lets outside apps connect on its higher plans, and we check yours first. We also need your checklists and forms for each job type as they are today, your crew list with roles and where finished jobs, photos and sign-offs should go. Then your OK on the sign-off wording and the notice to your team, your call on location at clock-in, and your decision with your accountant or lawyer on crews using their own phones.
Where is my data kept?
Your information is kept in a database set up only for your business, never shared with another client's.
What does a field app for crews cost?
The price depends on what we build, and your solution design includes a fixed price for the build. Nothing starts until you decide to go ahead, and the process analysis and solution design are free. Running costs such as hosting, your database, photo storage and the emailed sign-off copies are covered by a monthly plan sized to your business and expected usage. Optional support is separate, and your solution design lays out both before you decide.
